Meet some of the teams
Aberdeen Investments’ first-ever Padel League!
Following the success of our UK-based Padel League in 2025, we are taking the best parts and bringing it to life in Europe, Asia, and the US! From Edinburgh to London, more than 90 colleagues and clients took to the court. Some picked up a racket for the first time. Others brought serious skill. But every match delivered energy, excitement, and a chance to connect.

Collaborate on and off the court
Home
Inspired by the vision of padel’s creator, Aberdeen’s Global Padel Tour offers a unique opportunity to unwind, build connections, and foster collaboration – both on and off the court.
In 1969, Mexican businessman Enrique Corcuera created a small sports court at his holiday home in Acapulco with a simple vision: to start a game that could be enjoyed by family and friends regardless of skill level or athleticism. Inspired by his love for tennis and the desire to play in a smaller, more accessible space, Corcuera designed a 10 x 20-metre court enclosed by walls, allowing the ball to bounce off the surfaces, much like squash. Corcuera’s holiday home became the birthplace of a sport that has evolved into the global phenomenon we know as padel. The sport’s popularity has surged due to its unique appeal: it is easy to learn, fast-paced and social. ‘Enrique Corcuera had a vision – a vision that he brought to life with remarkable success,’ said Xavier Meyer, CEO of Aberdeen Investments. ‘That’s what financial and investment professionals do every day for their clients – they envision their future and craft well-thought-out plans to achieve their goals.’ In a padel match, partners must rely on each other’s strengths and support one another – much like the collaborative nature of managing wealth for clients and making strategic decisions together. ‘That’s what makes padel such a fitting sport for the asset management community,’ added Meyer. ‘And it’s why we’re excited to create our own padel tour, which we hope will bring our community together with the same spirit of fun, camaraderie, inclusivity, and teamwork that Enrique Corcuera intended.’
Introducing the Aberdeen Padel Tour
Starting in London on 5th May, followed by Edinburgh and Milan on the 14th May, we will set-up friendly tournaments for our peers globally. More dates to be announced for our other tour locations soon. London is the exception, as this will be a league set-up across 3-weeks for both beginner and intermediate players with the final running on the 23rd June where we will see both groups competing to win! Staying true to Corcuera’s original vision, our league and tournaments are designed to be inclusive. In London there are two groups: one for beginners and lower intermediate players, and another for upper intermediate and advanced players. At our tournaments in Edinburgh, Madrid, Milan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Philadelphia, beginners and advanced players will take part in friendly round robin games guided by coaches – with just the right touch of competition to keep it exciting. We hope to see you at one of our tour locations to connect on and off the field!
